Timothy Charles Fredel

Timothy Fredel brings nearly two decades of executive management, product development, strategic planning, marketing and investor experience to Rugged Elegance.

Fredel was one of the first to see the tremendous efficiencies the Internet could bring in connecting biotech businesses, employees, and investors. In 1994, he and his partner, Jennifer King became digital pioneers driving the launch of BioSpace.com, which is now recognized as the leading provider of Web-based solutions and the global hub for the life sciences industry.

Fredel has held marketing and product management positions with Cray Research, Sun Microsystems, and Farallon Computing.

Prior to joining BioSpace in 1994, Tim founded Indigo Systems, a management consulting firm focused on applying Systems Dynamics and Systems Thinking to corporate strategy. Indigo Systems' clients included Apple Computer, Quantum Corporation, Pacific Gas & Electric and Federal Express.

Tim holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Engineering Sciences from Dartmouth College and a Master of Science degree in Management from the Sloan School at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Personally, Tim serves on the Board of Directors of the San Francisco Chapter of Friends of the Children.
