Stanford Cardinal Beats Washington Huskies 27-13: Buddy's Boys Are Alright Now!

jr.lemon.jpg J.R. Lemon On His Way To A 42-Yard Touchdown

This afternoon in Palo Alto, J.R. Lemon rushed for a career-best 162 yards and three touchdowns to lead Stanford to a "sweet" 27-13 victory over the winless Washington Huskies.

Stanford finished a four game homestand with a 3-1 record. Next week, The Cardinal head to South Bend, Indiana to play their first road game against the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.

Today's game gives the Cardinal an optimistic look at the rest of their schedule. This is Stanford's best start since the 2001 season, when Stanford last made a bowl appearance.

Despite the victory, Stanford's players came into the locker room feeling down after the game.

"This is a good sign," Coach Buddy Teevens said. "The team did not feel like they had achieved the high standard that they have for themselves. We talk about chasing perfection, and we didn't get there today."

We like your standards! Congratulations to Buddy, his staff and team.

Here's to healthy, adventuresome, soulful, and a "higher-standard" of living!

The so-called "desktop metaphor" of today's workstations is instead an
"airplane-seat" metaphor. Anyone who has shuffled a lap full of papers while
seated between two portly passengers will recognize the difference -- one can
see only a very few things at once.
