There are many healthy, adventuresome, soulful activities taking place in San Francisco this weekend.

Here is a taste of the San Francisco scene, Rugged Elegant Living style, created to inspire you October 2-3, 2004.

HEALTHY LIVING

San Francisco's Bridge to Bridge Run

We have the Bay-to-Breakers in May. Join joggers and racers alike in a spirited 7K or 12K run and walk this Sunday, October 3rd.

The gun goes off at 9am.

The race begins at the Ferry Building along the Embarcadero. At Pier 39, the path veers onto Jefferson Street and continues through Fisherman's Wharf and around Aquatic Park.

The course goes from Aquatic Park to the foot of Van Ness Avenue at Municipal Pier. Here, runners and walkers turn up the McDowell Grade, a short but steep grade that takes you up to the Great Meadow and then down onto Marina Boulevard for the straight shot into the Presidio.

7K Runners & Walkers

At Mason and Halleck, the 7K participants turn left to the Presidio Parade Grounds. This is a two block stretch that has a slight incline taking you across Lincoln Blvd, and up Keyes Street to the finish line.

12K Participants

The 12K route goes through the new Wetlands area to the Golden Gate Promenade and then along San Francisco Bay and Marine Drive to Fort Point.

Los Angeles' Afro-Latin hip-hop, rock, jazz band, Ozomatli will be at the finish line to cheer you on.

San Francisco "Places of Taste" on the Radar Screen

We recommend dining at Keith and Raney Luce's Merenda.

As we sat down for dinner, one of the waiters waves to a regular customer as they stroll by. Three couples dining separately greet each other as they walk in.

Located on the south side of Union Street near Octavia, this is one of Cow Hollow's more romantic restaurants. The red walls, open display of wines, and delicious food offer a sophisticated yet friendly experience.

The sense of community is strong here.

When you go, if they are still serving the warm fig and prosciutto appetizer and their grilled salmon entree, you will not be disappointed.

Lunch is served Tuesday - Saturday. Dinner is served seven nights a week.

For hours and a further profile go to: Merenda
