Why are stars, from Hollywood to Silicon Valley, coming together to support Positive Coaching Alliance?
Since 1998, Positive Coaching Alliance, founded by Jim Thompson, has conducted more than 1,700 workshops for 68,000 coaches, parents and leaders that have helped create a positive sports environment for more than 680,000 young athletes.
PCA is recognized as a leader in youth sports training and has received funding from Nike Corporation the Amateur Athletic Foundation and The Fannie Mae Foundation to conduct workshops in underserved communities.
Their partnership networks include more than 300 youth sports organizations (YSO's), cities and schools.
On Sunday, July 11th, LivePlanet of Project Greenlight fame (a production company founded by Chris Moore, Sean Bailey, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon) sponsored the 1st Annual Hollywood Shootout at UCLA's famed Pauley Pavilion. Modeled after the successful Silicon Valley Shootout in Northern California, twenty teams came together to play basketball in a 3-on-3 tournament to benefit Positive Coaching Alliance.
PCA's next Silicon Valley Shootout is Sunday, September 12th. This event will be held at Stanford University.
