Some herald him as the next Norah Jones. The Hollywood Reporter calls this triple platinum UK artist, "a one man British invasion." Jamie Collum, the twenty-four year-old raspy-voice British jazz singer and pianist, will give San Francisco a taste of his talent this week at Bimbo's 365 Club.
A month ago, he released his new album "Twentysomething" in the U.S.
Worldwide, it has already sold 1 million copies.
Produced by the same label that put out Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong music, Verve offered Cullum a $1.8 million contract last year. As of May 14th, "Twentysomething" was the most popular album on iTunes.
Cullum's 1st album, produced by Candid Records, is called Pointless Nostalgic. Both show off his unique vocal talent which some say is a mix between Harry Connick Junior, Mose Allison and Stevie Wonder.
Come see for yourself on June 4th why Jamie Cullum is being touted as "the best modern male Jazz vocalist of our time." Show time is 9pm. Seats are $15.
To get a taste of Jamie Cullum before he comes to San Francisco, tune into The Today Show tomorrow morning, June 1st. Attend his performance in San Francisco's North Beach at Bimbo's on the 4th.
And then watch him again Thursday, June 10th on The Late Show with David Letterman.
