La Table's Demise is Fringale's Gain: Executive Chef Marc Rasic Joins SOMA French Bistro

Marc.Rasic.jpg
Fringale's New Executive Chef, Marc Rasic

Presidio Heights' prestigious restaurant, La Table closed its doors two weeks ago. Executive Chef, Marc Rasic fortunately has not gone far to share his fabulous cooking with the San Francisco community. He has landed at Fringale, a "rugged elegant" Hidden Treasure located at 570 Fourth Street near Brannan. Frigale is known as a pioneer in the French bistro movement.

The restaurant, originally owned by chef Gerald Hirigoyen and Jean-Baptiste Lorda, is now solely owned by Lorda. Ten years ago, the pair helped make South of Market a destination for fine dining.

Hirigoyen owns Piperade, another "rugged elegant" Hidden Treasure. He is also getting ready to open a tapas and sandwich place in The Financial District called Bocadillos.

Make your reservations now for Rasic's debut on June 15th. Beginning June 1st, he will start fine tuning his menu with plans to formally introduce it to the community on the 15th.

In addition to keeping a number of Fringale's favorites, Rasic intends to create a $38 three-course tasting menu.

In the meantime, check out "Related Products" below from a couple of the best bistro books on the market including Bistro: The Best of Casual French Cooking (The Casual Cuisines of the World) by Piperade and Bocadillos' Gerald Hirigoyen.

Perhaps a good Mother's Day gift!

Inspire & Be Inspired.
