Per Se Proprietors, Kuntz & Keller
Per se means "in or by itself.'' So, Proprietor Thomas Keller is quick to avoid calling his new restaurant located in the AOL Time Warner Center, "French Laundry- East.''
The French Laundry, located in Napa Valley's town of Yountville, does not serve dinner; they serve an experience. Our last "experience" lasted nine courses and took over five hours to complete.
It is the epitome of California's adaptation of Italy's Slow Food Movement.

Knowing the fast pace of Manhattan, perhaps Kunz and Keller will inspire the City to adopt the Slow Food Movement now on the East Coast.
Gray Kunz and Thomas Keller's contemporary American cuisine with French accents, is slated to open Monday, February 16th. They plan to feature vegetable platters for $130 -- not including wine, tax or tip.
The exact address is:
Per Se
The New Time Warner Center (currently under development)
Manhattan's Columbus Circle
60 Columbus Circle (between Broadway and 59th Street)
New York, NY 10019
The location will also serve as world headquarters for AOL Time Warner, including CNN and CNNfn studios.
While The French Laundry currently takes reservations two months to the day in advance, we hear that the wait for a table at Per Se is already three months! With only 65 seats available, we wish all our friends in New York the best of luck.
Here is at least Per Se's phone number to make the process a little easier: 212.823.9335. Get ready to put on your patience cap and hit "redial." It may take some time to get through.
We look forward to creating a Rugged Elegance Companion Guide to Places of Taste in New York. In the meantime, enjoy Per Se.
Bon Appetit!
