Set your TiVos now to Tuesday, December 13th at 9pm on UPN if you missed the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show and are still looking for inspiration as to what to buy your woman for the holidays.
When the show first aired on UPN's sister network CBS a play-by-play account was published by Rugged Elegant Living. However, the story did not get picked up by Google News.
Could the new "Jagger" search engine algorithm be more conservative -- just as a number of television stations were on December 6th? I doubt it.
Hopefully this piece will be picked up along with the link to the play-by-play.
Isabel Goulart, as shown above, is one of over twenty models to be seen.
You can almost taste the sweetness of her attire.
UPN announced that the fashion show will used as a lead-out of a repeat of Tyra Banks's America's Next Top Model show.
In addition to creating, executive producing, judging and hosting UPN's hit show, Ms. Banks is the author of the book, Tyra's Beauty Inside & Out.
Tyra's last steps down the Victoria's Secret runway marked her retirement from professional runway modeling.
UPN stated on UPN.com:
The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, featuring some of the world's leading supermodels, marks the final "Victoria's Secret Fashion Show" appearance for Tyra Banks and the first post-pregnancy runway appearance for Heidi Klum. Alongside supermodels Gisele Bundchen and Adriana Lima, the show introduces the next generation of Victoria's Secret "Angels," including new sensations Selita Ebanks and Izabel Goulart, who make their fashion show debut.
In addition, Ricky Martin performs his new hit single "Drop It On Me," from his new album Life. Seal performs the hit songs "Love's Divine" and "Crazy," singing to his wife, model Heidi Klum. Trumpeter Chris Botti opens the fashion spectacular with a jazz rendition of "Embraceable You."
This year's fashion spectacular features a runway presentation infused with a holiday theme. The special also includes red carpet interviews, model profiles and a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the world's most celebrated fashion show.
In 2001, the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show had 12.3 million viewers.
In 2002, they drew in an audience of 10.5 million.
In 2003, interest in the show dropped to 9.4 million people.
Last year, Limited Brands Inc., maker of the Victoria's Secret line of lingerie and the creators of the show, took a hiatus from their multi-million dollar major production.
Last Tuesday, December 6th, when the show first aired, the tenth anniversary Victoria's Secret Fashion Show garnered an audience of 8.9 million.
For many, the show was just too hot to handle.
But don't let that stop you from watching UPN.
Inspire & Be Inspired.
Here's to healthy, adventuresome, soulful, "take two" living!
