Katie and Jerry's Story
Jerry told Rugged Elegant Living:
I really like being married.
I believe emotionally and spiritually God really planned on a man finding a wife to share life with, every day.
And if you find the right one your life will be healthier, wealthier and happier.
The peace and joy and passion that being mutually in love in a committed marriage relationship within the wisdom of God's law about marriage from the Bible is the best way to live daily life in my opinion.
Jerry went on to say:
I live better with a soul mate sharing daily life and goals and just the challenge and joy of everyday living.
It is a life choice that works best for me.
I have been married and I have been single.
Married is better for me.
You share the future.
Your present life is a part of history that you build into the future each and every day.
That said, Jerry admits to having been emotionally unavailable for his traditional "local" dating experiences.
When he was ready to get serious again about being married, he offered big bucks and major kudos to Chris Stelmack.
"As a matchmaker," he said, "She really makes a difference."
Jerry had no trouble dating when single.
He had lots of companionship as a single man.
However, he became convinced that the best soul mate for him might very well not live within fifteen miles of his house.
As he began to look beyond his work circle of friends, single female friends, relatives and personal friends, he considered hiring someone to "search" for Katie.
Jerry said:
As I have gotten wiser with age I was struck how sad it is that so many persons allow "their circumstances" to rule their lives rather than asserting some effort to change those circumstances.
And I was right.
Chris Stelmack's Process
The service Chris Stelmack provides begins with a large database of eligible women. From this database Chris personally helps her clients focus on women with the characteristics, beliefs and ideals that are most important to them.
Jerry credits Chris' real magic along with her ability to sit down and get to know important details about his life. He said, "Chris strives to get a handle on your goals regarding a marital relationship."
Writing down these goals on paper can be a challenge.
Chris' one-on-one conversation naturally brings them out. In many cases, this conversation brings clarity to her clients.
Jerry believes "match sites" have their purpose. But if you really want to save a clients' time, you need to get to know them well.
Chris puts in the same kind of effort with each woman she accepts into her club as she does with the men who invest in her 4M Club.
When Jerry read over the profiles of the women who shared many of his interests, and who appeared to be compatible with him, Jerry met again with Chris. This time, it was to get her personal take on the women he was inclined to me. Since Chris has personally met each one, she has personal knowledge of the women in her club that a description on paper or the web might not bring out.
Jerry states that the made difference with Chris is that she has attained personal information about these people that would never reach a "match site" profile.
Jerry said:
Learning little details about a person may expose a deal breaking issue when revealed. Chris can save a lot of wasted time in the "dating process" by knowing what details matter and what are less trivial.
It takes time and a bit of "spiritual angel assistance" to find that one special person.
Sometimes you just know the moment you meet her that she is the one.
That is what happened with my Katie.
Jerry felt there was something special in Katie's voice from the instant he spoke with her.
He said it was not only the tone of her voice but also what she said. "She was so honest and genuine and sincere and direct," Jerry explained.
Jerry was not used to Katie's approach. The initial conversations he had with other women never went as smoothly.
Jerry described the feeling he had when he and Katie first met at the Dallas airport for their first date.
He said, "I was completely done at 'hello'."
He said his love at first sight moment came swooping in the minute he met her. "I knew that she was the one with whom I wanted to spend the rest of my life," Jerry proclaimed. "And that thought has never changed for an instant."
Again, giving kudos to Chris, who brought them together, Jerry stated:
Katie and I are both profoundly convinced that we would not be so blissfully united but for some absolute spiritual intervention.
We both believe in angels.
Chris is kind of the Angels' agent. They whisper in her ear sometimes and tell her things that help people who really need to be together get together.
At least that is what happened to us.
Katie's Side of The Story
Katie had been previously married for 15 years. She had four children with her first husband. Currently, her children live with their father. Fortunately, Katie sees them all the time.
As it is with any single woman looking for a new spouse, it can be very difficult to find a man who is willing to take on stepchildren.
Katie said:
The realities that come with this undertaking are enormous.
I was a stepmother in my first marriage, so this role came very natural to me.
Katie said she was single for about four years.
During that time, she did a lot of dating.
She even joined a Mormon dating service called LDSSingles.com.
She said, "I am Mormon and it was important to me to find someone with God-centered beliefs regarding marriage."
For numerous reasons she said this Web site did not work for her.
Like Jerry, she came to the conclusion that she would likely not find her spouse in Salt Lake City.
Katie said:
I believe very strongly in angels, in God and divine intervention.
If your intentions are sincere your prayers will be answered.
Katie described the day she went into a local grocery store and discovered a copy of the Millionaire Magazine.
In the magazine aisle she picked up a copy of the magazine. The first page she opened was an advertisement for Chris Stelmack's 4M Club.
Katie said:
I called Chris and after several long serious conversations I was confident that her 4M Club could help me find my future husband.
One of the first things I communicated to Chris was 'I don 't need any more dates, I am serious about getting married.'
Katie praised Stelmack for her ability to listen.
Katie said with enthusiasm, "Boy did she deliver big time!"
Jerry's love at first sight was anything but one-sided. Katie felt the same way the day she met her husband-to-be.
Katie described Chris' stringent rules regarding how a couple first connects.
Since most of the men are the millionaires paying for Chris' service, Chris makes sure it is the man who first contacts the woman.
Katie had no problem with this "old fashioned" approach. In fact, she said rather preferred it.
Chris e-mailed a picture of Jerry to Katie.
When Jerry expressed interest in meeting Katie Chris gave Jerry Katie's phone number.
The couple talked several times over the phone and exchanged a number of e-mails before deciding to meet in person.
Katie said, "There was something about Jerry over the phone that was very special."
The couple agreed to meet. Jerry flew Katie to Dallas.
And the rest is history.
Sealed With A Kiss

At Katie and Jerry's wedding, they not only invited Chris Stelmack to attend, they incorporated their gratitude for Chris into their wedding vows.
After the wedding, a number of Katie and Jerry's friends expressed how significant their ceremony was to them, personally.
A mutual friend of Jerry and Katie's said:
After attending the Saxton's wedding I broke up with my boyfriend. This relationship had not been working out for sometime.
Attending their wedding gave me the courage to realize this fact.
Another friend told Katie in tears, "After experiencing your wedding I realized that in order for me to attract a quality man like Jerry I have a lot of work to do on my self, first."
Katie told Jerry in their very first conversation, "You don't become middle-aged having had a previous marriage and kids without some baggage."
Katie offers a bit of advice to women willing to go out on a limb and join Chris' 4M Club.
Katie said:
Women who are seeking a quality husband and stepfather for their children need to work through their "baggage" and work on themselves, so that they can attract a quality man like that which 4M has to offer.
I feel that woman at times are just willing to settle.
Chris and 4M deserved all of the recognition that she got at our wedding.
If it were not for her efforts, her kindness, her listening ear, and her skill I would not have the most precious gift in my life: My husband.
San Francisco Bay Area 4M Club Member, Stephen Klein
Stephen Klein, one of Chris Stelmack's Northern California clients, is hoping he will have as much luck as Jerry Saxton did.
When I asked Chris if she had a client who has the healthy, adventuresome, soulful persona, which matches the audience Rugged Elegance serves, without hesitation she introduced me to Stephen Klein.
Stephen is a successful business man in the arts and entertainment world, who has everything, but someone with whom he can share his beautiful Mill Valley home, hiking trips up Mt. Tamalpais, skiing at Lake Tahoe, adventures to the wine country, the best restaurants in Marin and San Francisco, his adorable five year-old twins (a boy and a girl), and his rock and blues band.
Stephen is both the front man and guitar player in a local Bay Area band.
He says he also has a day job.
That job, producing multi-media theatre in New York and London, interactive theatre on the Web, two short films, a music video and an indie music label, has Stephen traveling fairly extensively to Europe, Los Angeles and Manhattan.
In fact, half of Stephen's time is on the road.
Investing time finding a woman who loves to mountain bike, hike, run, dine out, ski and just hang out as he does, is an obvious challenge.
Fortunately, Stephen has the means to have hired Chris Stelmack in that department of his life.
The only thing Stephen says he doesn't like about the 4M Club is the connotation behind its name.
Stephen told Rugged Elegant Living:
The one thing I didn't like about 4M is the name and the implication
that it is about money and not the other things in life that make life important.
The fact is that 4M is a deeply principled group.

Stephen says he did his research before hiring Chris.
In doing his due diligence, he found that there are a number of people who do what Chris and 4M do.
However, he liked Chris a lot.
He has found her to be a sincere and warm person who has a deep intuition about people.
Stephen says he thinks the world of Chris.
He added:
Chris is a good person and that was important to me.
I'm a busy guy and I don't have time to date a lot, so when I do take the time it's important to me that the women I meet are really nice and special.
I don't have to time play the numbers game.
Stephen has paid Chris an annual fee to introduce him to her client base of single women.
On more than one occasion, Stephen has flown one of Chris' members to meet him in San Francisco. In each case, they were from another part of the country.
Stephen said he has, thus far, met two women who were sweet and special. However, in both cases, the chemistry was not there.
That doesn't mean he's given up, however.
As you can imagine, men, who lead as interesting a life as Stephen does, are often in a predicament around the holidays. They have to decide whether to accept many of the party invitations sent to them or, in Stephen's case, stay home with the two people he treasures the most. With as much traveling as he does his kids often come first.
However, Chris Stelmack is working hard to not only be an angel for Stephen, she is hoping to introduce Stephen to an angel who has that elusive chemistry he is willing to wait for.
Who knows? Perhaps Stephen Klein's 2005 will end with a bang.
It is probably premature to say, but Chris has confidence she may have met Stephen's match.
Stephen writes:
Chris has just introduced me to an absolutely amazing woman, and though it's obviously too early to tell I may have been given the Christmas present of a lifetime.
