The 2005 American Music Awards took place on November 22nd and I missed it. TiVo didn't even record it for me. Through the grapevine and the Web I learned that Carlos Santana and the Eurythmics were in the house. While I can't report on who had the most soulful song or acceptance speech of the night, I can offer a taste of who was best dressed and most rugged elegant that night.

For those who are not familiar with Rugged Elegant Living, "rugged elegance" is not just an aesthetic. Someone who is rugged elegant embodies a healthy, adventuresome, soulful spirit. This is the type of person we are inspired to promote.

Ginuwine

Ginuwine looked handsome in black.

So did Lance Armstrong. Loved the touch of texture on his suit.

Will Smith

Will Smith, favorite AMA Pop/Rock Male Artist of The Year, looked every bit a winner. Wear that smile and he's a winner in our book, every time.

Many types of music were celebrated at the American Music Awards.

Country duo Brooks and Dunn won the favorite country band award for the fourth time.

Linkin Park celebrated after winning favorite alternative music artist for the second year in a row.

Sheryl Crow received the award for female pop-rock artist and adult contemporary artist.

Columbian singer Shakira accepted the award for favorite Latin music artist.

Actress Emmy Rossum was a presenter at the show.

The American Music Awards celebration is one of four annual major U.S. music awards shows. The other three include the Billboard Music Awards, the Grammy Awards, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.

This year's AMA celebration was hosted by Cedric the Entertainer. The awards recognized the most popular albums and artists from the year 2005. The music genres recognized include: Pop/Rock, Sou/Rhythm & Blues, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Adult Contemporary, Latin Music, Alternative Music, Contemporary Inspirational and Breakthrough.

The 33rd Annual American Music Awards were telecast on ABC.
