The makers of China's Loncin Motorcycles will be getting some free advertising this week, when four-year-old Tu Yuncai performs her acrobatic tricks in the 10th China Wuqiao International Circus Festival. She will be riding her LX125 bike.
The CWICF competition, known as the "grand game field for oriental acrobatics," begins on October 29th, 2005 in Shijiazhuang China's Hebei Art Center.
Tu began to learn acrobatics at the age of one-and-a-half. She will be the youngest performer during the festival, which will take place in north China's Hebei province from October 29th to November 6th.
The international acrobatics festival is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and People's Government of Hebei Province.
Ding Wei, assistant to the Chinese cultural minister said, "The festival has made special contributions to bringing Chinese culture to the world."
Wuqiao County in Hebei Province has been known as "home to acrobatics".
In addition to performers like Yuncai, who was born in east China's Jiangxi province, the festival will attract over 300 elite competitors from around the world, including China, Russia, the United States, Ukraine, Germany, Cuba, Mexico, France, Argentina, Columbia and Sweden.
In all, sixteen countries and regions will compete for the internationally recognized Golden Lion Prize. This top prize has become one of the most important circus awards in the world.
The chief festival organizer, Sun Shibing, said:
They stand for the first-rate circus performance in the world, and embody the latest accomplishments and trends in the international circus arena.
Ten experts in the international circus field (eight foreign and two domestic) will serve on the panel of judges.
The contest will choose three Golden Lion Award winners. They will each receive a $6,165 US (50,000-yuan) prize. Six Silver Lion Award recipients will receive a $2,466 US (20,000-yuan) prize. And nine Bronze Lion Award winners will each win a $1,233 (10,000-yuan) prize.
This festival is considered one of the top three acrobatic events in the world.
The other two are the Future International Acrobatics Festival of Paris in France and the Circus Festival of Monte Carlo.
The biennial Wuqiao International Acrobatics Festival was first held in 1987. The event was originally held in the county of Wuqiao, which is known as the birthplace of China's acrobatics. The Wuqiao circus became famous throughout China during the Yuan Dynasty.
Four-year-old, Tu Yuncai has been working on her technique in preparation for a stunt that will be submitted to The Guinness Book of World Records.
Good luck Tu Yuncai! We will be cheering you on and hoping that your Loncin holds up under the pressure.
Inspire & Be Inspired.
Here's to healthy, adventuresome, soulful, "going after the Guinness and the Golden Lion at any age" living!
