This handsome, thirty-seven year-old gentleman has already worked with beauties such as Sienna Miller, Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Keira Knightley. The very lucky actor, who will play the role of Agent "Double O - Seven", James Bond, is Daniel Wroughton Craig.
Craig, who was born March 2nd 1968 in Chester, Cheshire, UK and raised near Liverpool, is only the second British gentleman to get the job of the world's most famous British spy. The other Englishman to share the Bond name? Roger Moore.
Craig was chosen over 200 other actors. It took the producers of Ian Fleming's world renowned spy series two years to decide on Craig.
James Bond casting director Debbie McWilliams - who is working on the new film Casino Royale - said in an interview four years ago that Bond had to be "devastatingly handsome, incredibly fit and available".
Craig is available to play the role of Bond.
He is also available for real-life love.
After marrying in his early 20's, he had a seven-year relationship with Heike Makatsch, a German actress. Since their break-up, he has dated Kate Moss, Sienna Miller. Meanwhile, Angelina Jolie described the new Bond as "one of the best kissers" she had ever experienced.
A permanent love of his life is his thirteen year-old daughter, who lives with his ex-wife in London.
The previous actors who played James Bond included:
1962-71 - Sir Sean Connery (born: 8.25.30)
1969 - George Lazenby (born: 9.5.39)
1973-85 - Sir Roger Moore (born: 10.14.27)
1987-89 - Timothy Dalton (born: 3.21.46)
1995-2002 - Pierce Brosnan (born: 5.16.53)
If Moore will be remembered as Fleming's original choice, Connery as the "perfect" Bond, Dalton as the more human two-time Bond, Lazenby as the one-time, underappreciated Bond, and Brosnan, as the "revivor" of the series, what do you suppose people will be saying about Craig, after he has fulfilled his three film contract?
Craig's first 007 film will be in Casino Royale, an adaptation of author Ian Fleming's first James Bond novel.
Director Martin Campbell said the 21st Bond film would be "definitely darker, more character, less gadgets".
Campbell called his new Bond "fantastic."
Filming will begin in January in the Czech Republic, the Bahamas, Italy and the UK.
An expected worldwide release has already been set for November 17th, 2006. Mark your calendars now.
On Friday, October 14th 2005, arriving dramatically in London on a speed boat, Craig came to the EON Productions press conference in a suit, a burgundy tie and dark sunglasses. He was escorted by the Royal Navy.
The press conference was held aboard the historic WWI spy ship HMS President.
Craig told the press that he found out he had officially gotten the role this past Monday.
On Monday, the new James Bond said he celebrated with "a few martinis."
This past April, Craig told IGN Filmforce that the studio, MGM, had offered him the role of Bond. However, it was not until Eon Productions

Munich is Steven Spielberg's lastest film about the aftermath of the terrorist attacks at the 1972 Olympics. Filming was just completed.
In Cold Blood is the Truman Capote story of a real-life killer. Craig plays the role of that killer named Perry Smith.
Craig told reporters on Friday that he wants to bring more "emotional depth to the (Bond) character". He also said:
Together with Martin, I want to make the best film we can, the most entertaining film we can.
Washington Post film critic Stephen Hunter described Craig as "the next Steve McQueen".
Hunter wrote:
He has McQueen's way of dominating without bullying.
He's also handsome in a rugged way, thin and strong.
Here, we call that "rugged elegant".
A Blonde Bond
So, what makes Daniel Craig for the previous Bond characters? For one, he is blonde.
About EON Productions
EON Productions is rumored to stand for "Everything or Nothing".
The film production company responsible for putting James Bond on the big screen was started in 1961 by film producers Albert R. "Cubby" Broccoli (1909 - 1996) and Harry Saltzman (1915 - 1994).
Since their first film in 1962, Dr. No, only one film has been made by EON Productions that was not a part of the Bond series. It is called Call Me Bwana starring Bob Hope. This film was released in 1963.
Michael G. Wilson (born 1943) is the stepson of the late EON Productions co-founder, Albert Broccoli. Wilson's father is the actor, Lewis Wilson. Michael and Broccoli's daughter, Barbara have led the production of the James Bond films since their father's death in 1996. In honor of their father's life and accomplishments, every James Bond movie has and will continue to have "Cubby" Broccoli's name in the beginning credits.
Broccoli's step-son, Michael Wilson has either served as an actor, a writer, an assistant director, an executive producer or a producer in nearly every James Bond film since Goldfinger (1964). He formally joined EON Productions in 1972.
Barbara Broccoli (born 1960) started her "James Bond career" in 1983 as an assistant director in Octopussy at the young age of twenty-two. Leveraging her Loyola University motion picture and television communications major, along with her tie to her father, Albert R. Broccoli, she quickly served as associate producer of The Living Daylights (1987) and License to Kill (1989) before becoming co-producer with her step brother on all of Pierce Brosnan's Bond films.
The James Bond series includes:
Dr. No (1962) - made with only $1M in financing from United Artists
From Russia With Love (1963)
Goldfinger (1964)
Thunderball (1965)
You Only Live Twice (1967)
On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969)
