Twenty-six-year-old actress Katie Holmes is going to be a mom. The father? Her forty-three-year-old fiance, actor and producer, Thomas Cruise Mapother IV.

On Wednesday, October 5th 2005, Marian Willard, a spokeswoman for the happy couple, confirmed that Katie is pregnant with Tom's first biological child.

Willard said, "I can confirm that," but added that she had no information about a due date or any other details.

Tom has two other children with whom he adopted with former wife, Nicole Kidman.

Isabella is now twelve. Connor is ten.

Cruise's chief publicist, sister Lee Anne DeVette, wrote in a statement:

Tom and Katie are very excited, and the entire family is very excited.

Tom Cruise is currently on location in Los Angeles shooting Mission: Impossible 3.

However, this mission of conceiving Baby #3 is very much not impossible.

Fast & Furious Romance

Cruise and Holmes began dating in mid-April.

Reportedly "crazy in love," he proposed to her on June 17th at the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

They announced their engagement the next day at a news conference that was tied to a world publicity tour for their two most recent movies (War of the Worlds for Cruise and Batman Begins for Holmes).

People Magazine was first to get the "scoop" on the joint production between Mr. and Mrs. Tom & Katie Cruise-to-be.

Their rep said that Holmes "has never felt better."

"Katie says she'd love to have a boy and a girl," a friend of the actress said.

Previously she told a reporter, "I have so much respect for my mom and my sisters who are now raising children."

A wedding date has yet to be announced for Cruise and Holmes.

Once they agree on which country to be married in, perhaps they'll be able to select where to have the ceremony.

Some speculate that Mexico's "rugged elegant" Maroma Resort & Spa, which is closed during November, will be the place they return this fall for their nuptials.

In May, the couple took Tom's kids on holiday to Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula.

Located on the Riviera Maya, Maroma was named in the coveted 2004, "The Best in the World Readers Choice Awards," Conde Nast Traveler magazine.

Do you suppose this is where Cruise's Child #3 was conceived?

So what is the couple calling their baby? Perhaps they should consider, "Tom Kitten!" until he or she is born.
