"Rugged Elegant" Photo of The Day: On August 2nd All Eyes were on Kate Hudson

On August 2nd 2005, Reuters Photographer Mario Anzuoni captured actress Kate Hudson stepping out in the style on the red carpet and flirting with the photographers. She was on her way to the premiere of Universal Pictures' 'The Skeleton Key' at the Universal Studios cinema in the Universal City area of Los Angeles.

Kate plays the role of Caroline, a live-in hospice nurse hired for $1,000 per week to care for an elderly woman's ailing husband in their home.

Caroline explores the large Louisiana house with a skeleton key, which opens nearly every door in the house, including an attic full of Black Magic recipes.

Kate's husband, The Black Crowes rocker Chris Robinson was there to support his wife, as was Oliver Hudson, one of Kate's three brothers.

For the LA premiere, Kate wore a black, floor-length, beaded Versace gown.

Last month she was in Madrid for a similar event where she wore a white suit. Kate's latest movie, co-starring Peter Sarsgaard, opened in Spain and the U.K. on July 29th. The film is directed by Iain Softley.

The dark thriller (no thank you) opens in the U.S. on August 12th.
