Sharon Stone is An Actress, Mother of Two, Philanthropist & Now Hollywood's Most Ageless American Celebrity

Sharon.Stone.Ageless.2005.jpg

Sharon Stone is forty-seven years old and a diabetic. But she looks at least ten years younger, appears in excellent health -- even after suffering a near-death brain aneurysm in 2001 -- and she promises she has not had plastic surgery to improve her physical appearance. In January, she was even willing to go to court over it.

The award-winning Irish-American Hollywood actress, model, AIDS, breast cancer and wild animal philanthropist, gay rights activist, entrepreneur, producer and mother-of-two-adopted-children has been voted by the editors of In Touch Magazine as the #1 Most Age-Defying Celebrity in Hollywood.

Stone's reputation for her natural beauty and glamour has always been held in high esteem. Thanks to In Touch this honor further reinforces that women in their forties can look and feel fabulous.

The magazine's 2005 top ten ageless stars include:

Stone told In Touch Magazine:

Though I try to keep myself fit and active, I won't be taking desperate measures like facelifts and plastic surgery.

I'm a great believer in letting nature take its course and living with what I've been given.

Sharon.Stone.smiles.jpgAbout Sharon Stone

Sharon Stone was born on March 10th, 1958 in Meadville, Pennsylvania.

At the age of fifteen she entered Edinboro State University of Pennsylvania. It has been reported that she has an IQ of 154.

At the age of seventeen, she became Miss Pennsylvania.

Sharon graduated with a degree in creative writing and fine arts at Edinboro State.

In 1977, she moved to New Jersey, then went to New York and became an Eileen Ford model. Ford is the same agency which helped launch modeling careers for Christie Brinkley, Rachel Hunter, Lauren Hutton, Melanie Griffith, Cheryl Tiegs, Candice Bergen and Kim Basinger, to name a few other American beauties.

After living in Europe, Sharon grew tired of modeling and returned to the states.

In 1980, she made her brief but memorable film debut as a pretty young woman on a train in Woody Allen's Stardust Memories.

Her first speaking role came a year later in the horror movie Deadly Blessing, which became a big box-office success.

The actress, model, producer, philanthropist, production company owner and mother-of-two-adopted-sons became a movie star in 1984 when she played the role of Ryan O'Neal's girlfriend in Irreconcilable Differences.

Her bigger break came in 1990 when she co-starred with Arnold Schwarzenegger as his wife in Paul Verhoeven's Total Recall.

Stone is perhaps better known today, however, for her role co-starring Michael Douglas in Paul Verhoeven's 1993 thriller Basic Instinct.

In 1993, the MTV Movie Awards named Sharon the Most Desirable Female and gave her the award for Best Female Performance.

For her role in Martin Scorsese's Casino, co-starring Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci, she earned a Golden Globe and an Academy Award nomination.

That same year (1995), she was chosen by Empire magazine as one of the 100 Sexiest Stars in Film History. Her number? 49.

Two years later, the same publication ranked her #77 out of 100 Top Movie Stars of All Time.

In 1992, People Magazine named her one of the year's "50 Most Beautiful People."

In 1999, she was rated among the 25 sexiest stars of the century by Playboy.

Today, Stone and her two adopted sons reside in Beverly Hills. She also owns a ranch in New Zealand.

In addition to acting and raising money for causes she is passionate about, Sharon Stone runs a company called Chaos Productions.

Regarding her company's partnership with Miramax, Stone said:

I realized that to make the kind of quality movies I want, I had to have a bigger hand in making them.

I want to make profound films with great integrity.

Plus, this will be an opportunity for women in the film business.

Next year, she will appear in Basic Instinct II: Risk Addiction.

Where Basic Instinct was shot in San Francisco, the sequel is currently being filmed in London. Scots Hollywood Director Michael Caton-Jones, who also directed Rob Roy, anticipates releasing the Sony Pictures Entertainment thriller this March.

In between shooting the first Instinct and the second, Stone has starred in more than 50 films.

Her real-life relationships with men have included the singer and actor Dwight Yoakam, actor Hart Bochner; comedian Garry Shandling; music producer Chris Peters; producer Bill McDonald; assistant director Bob Wagner; Jim Connelly; executive Barry Josephson and Michael Benasra.

From 1984 - 1987, Stone was married to the producer of MacGyver, Michael Greenburg. Stone married the television producer on the set of The Vegas Strip War.

Sharon.Stone.Phil.Bronstein.jpgShe moved out of Hollywood to San Francisco's Sea Cliff neighborhood when she married San Francisco Examiner editor, Phil Bronstein on Valentine's Day 1998. Together, they adopted a son. However, their marriage ended in January 2004.

Today, she claims to have "no time for love."

She says her life is too full already, especially since she adopted her second child.

She said:

I don't have the time or the inclination to start another relationship.

I'm not saying I'll never have another relationship but I can't think what or who would take me there right now I'm more than happy with my family and friends.

Stone said she is more content being a single mother to five-year-old Roan and baby son Laird than becoming a wife again.

She said recently in an interview with Britain's Now Magazine:

They're both giving me all the love and fulfillment I could possibly want.

The only thing better than one wonderful son is two I can't think of anyone or anything more precious to me.

They make me so happy.

Stone is also quoted as saying:

Ava Gardner was the most beautiful woman in the world, and it's wonderful that she didn't cut up her face.

She addressed aging by picking up her chin and receiving the light in a better way.

And she looked like a woman.

She never tried to look like a girl.

Sharon Stone is clearly proud of her body and face and not afraid to flaunt it. She also recognizes that fame and fortune are not the most important priorities in life.

Stone recently said:

The one thing I've learned over the years is that fame and fortune are so fragile.

There are far more important things in life and I'm appreciating them now.

The love and friendship I was given during those dark times are the real things I value.

I'm not saying I don't enjoy the attention of being an actress but there are many other things in life.

Regarding her God-given beauty she also told Britain's Now Magazine:

I think like a young person and, although I try to keep myself fit and active,

I won't be taking desperate measures like facelifts and plastic surgery.

I'm a great believer in letting nature take its course and living with what I've been given.

Inspire & Be Inspired.

Here's to healthy, adventuresome, soulful, "looking your age and loving it" living!
