Calling all Peta Wilson fans! Our favorite Down Under-cover agent from the hit television series La Femme Nikita will be appearing in the upcoming Superman Returns big screen movie.

Spacey will play the bald-headed Lex Luthor, Superman's main foe.

Kate Bosworth has taken on the role of Lois Lane.

Other Superman Returns actors include James Marsden, Frank Langella, Sam Huntington, Kal Penn and Parker Posey.

Last July, Singer left Marvel's X-Men for Superman, the hero who inspired his previous work.

Peta reportedly has a minor but significant role tied to a scene that is "crucial" in the storyline. She is expected to play a PR agent named Bobbie Faye.

Wikipedia.org reports:

Filming started in February 2005 and the movie is to be released on June 30, 2006.

The continuity established in Christopher Reeve's first two films will serve as its back-story.

While not technically a sequel, the film picks up five years after the events of Superman II.

Bryan Singer plans to incorporate unused footage of Marlon Brando's performance as Jor-El from the first movie starring Reeve.

In addition, pieces of John Williams' classic film score will be adapted by composer John Ottman.

"Superman Returns" is expected to be the first of two semi-sequel films about the classic hero who returns to Earth after having been missing for six years.
