Sean John Men's Attire
Sean John has had a men's clothing line since spring 1999.
The line includes: Jackets, pants & trousers, jeans, t shirts, knitwear & sweaters, shorts, streetwear, shirts & blouses, outerwear, sweaters and accessories.
Not long thereafter, he added a women's apparel line to his personal global brand.
Penelope Cruz in Ralph Lauren
The Sahara star recently teamed up with L'Oreal's Ralph Lauren Fragrances to launch its ad campaign for Glamourous, a new, high-end fragrance.
She has also lent her beautiful figure to Lauren's clothing line.
Other brands she has helped promote include Abercrombie & Fitch and Calvin Klein.
Penelope Cruz didn't think her image was "urban" enough for the look Combs is trying to sell. Little did she know how sophisticated Sean John's clothes are.
The Spanish actress should have known. Just take a look at the way the mogul dresses himself.
Looking to Re-Define The "Urban" Category
Cruz was pleasantly surprised when she went to a photo shoot for P. Diddy's new line, Sean By Sean Combs.
She said:
I was asked to be the spokeswoman for P. Diddy's new line.
I was so surprised because at first I thought the clothes would consist of urban wear, like lots of hoods, but his clothes are so sexy and they made me feel good.
The idea behind the upcoming ad campaign is to capture both Combs and Cruz as they escape from paparazzi in different locations throughout the city.
Diddy hired famed fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh for the 2-day shoot.
Taking New York by storm, Combs, Cruz and Lindbergh attracted the attention of many "real" paparazzi, along with hordes of fans and autograph-seekers this past week.
This fall, the Sean by Sean Combs women's collection line will be available on the 5th floor at Bergdorf Goodman, at Bloomingdale's, as well as specialty boutiques such as Big Drop, Intermix and of course, his own Sean John boutique.
150 pieces will be created for the 2005 holiday collection.
Look for Natural Born Killers, primarily black and other dark colors; Caramel Kiss, done in warm brown tones; and Monaco, a resort collection featuring more brilliant colors.
In addition, he will go "over the top" with a wool, cashmere and angora coat highlighted with a double coyote collar.
The wholesale price for this fabulous coat? $847.50.

Looks most "rugged elegant" to me!
Targeting his own kind of woman, Diddy told Women's Wear Daily:
I want women to come into my world.
I want to show the diversity of this young, fun, sexy, sophisticated woman.
This is the woman we aspire to have.
This is the woman the Sean John man wants.
Kal Ruttenstein, senior vp of fashion direction at Bloomingdale's, has already previewed the collection and said he was "surprised and delighted" by the results.
Ruttenstein said:
I thought it was a very strong collection.
I was extremely pleased with it.
It's not logo-heavy and it's not celebrity-driven.
The collection really doesn't look like anything else out there.

The Appetizer -- A Taste of More To Come
Sean by Sean Combs holiday collection has been affectionately called "the appetizer" by Comb's design team because it offers just a taste of what he has up his sleeve.
He told WWD:
Only the people that are very close to me call me Sean.
Sean is different from Sean John, and men are very different from women.
When I design for men, I design under the personality of Sean John.
When I'm doing this line, it's another part of my personality.

About Sean 'P. Diddy' Combs
Sean 'P. Diddy' Combs' clothing line made its debut in the spring of 1999.
Combs made a name for himself in the mid-to-late 1990s as a label executive for Uptown Records. He later became a hip hop rapper under his own label, Bad Boy Records. Under this label, he also signed Craig Mack and the late Notorious B.I.G. Today, Combs, as CEO and founder of Bad Boy Entertainment and Sean John, Inc., has continually tried to reinvent his image.
In 2003, "P. Diddy" ran in the New York City Marathon and raised $2,000,000 for the educational system for the children of New York. He appeared on the March 10, 2004 episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show to discuss the marathon.
Combs adds "exclusive" women's clothing designer to his long list of accomplishments. He has built a global brand around becoming a multi-platinum artist and music producer, a fashionista, a restauranteur, a movie actor and Broadway performer, a retailer, a fashion designer, an advertiser, a political activist, the ceo of his own companies, and a generous philanthropist.
