If you've been deprived of the first three "days" of 24 don't fret.
You have six days to get caught up before next Monday's Season Four finale. The Rugged Elegance World Marketplace
-- thanks to our partnership with Amazon -- can have the first three seasons at your doorstep by tomorrow.
* Season One (2001-2002): An assassination attempt is going to be made on presidential candidate David Palmer (Dennis Haysbert), and there is also a mole working in CTU.
* Season Two (2002-2003): There's a nuclear bomb under terrorist control somewhere in Los Angeles, set to go off before the end of the day.
* Season Three (2003-2004): Terrorists are threatening to release a weaponized virus in Los Angeles unless drug lord Ramone Salazar is released from prison.
In 2004, the show won the Golden Globe for Best Drama Series.
24 won Emmy Awards for Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing For A Drama Series, Outstanding Single-Camera Sound Mixing For A Series, Outstanding Casting For A Drama Series, and Outstanding Stunt Coordination. In February, Sutherland won a SAG award for Best Actor in a Drama series.
My Favorite "24" Story
Everyone who is a 24 or Kiefer Sutherland fan likely has a 24 story to tell. Mine originated in England.
My sister-in-law's brother, Bryan Ebstyne needed to get a week-day flat in England. During one of his many interviews he looked around the flat and saw his potential flat mate was big into his stereo and DVD collection. Putting his sales pitch on, Bryan said, "If you choose me I will bring along my entire collection of CDs and DVDs, including 24.
That clinched the deal.
So the day Bryan moved in he presented Season One of 24 to his new flat mate who had already lined up a number of friends to watch the first few hours with him. Bryan also joined them for an hour or two. He then went to bed. When Bryan got up his flat mate and friends were still watching 24. And when he got home from work that night, they were still at it. In one sitting, his flat mate and friends watched the enter first season of 24.
Can you top that?
You've heard the term "jonesin'" before?
Bryan and his flat mates are not the only one hooked on 24.
Last night I was fast asleep after reading with my ten year-old in bed. Tim came into the bedroom. In the distance, I heard a familiar sound -- Thump, Thump. Thump, Thump. Thump, Thump.
Immediately, I knew it was time to get up from my peaceful slumber.
It was Tim's cue that the clock had struck 9.
On Monday nights, wild elephants couldn't pull us away from watching 24. It is the only adult show we watch during the week. While each episode is tivoed, we typically watch our favorite adventure drama indulgence "real time."
Season Four (2004-2005)
This season on 24 our favorite antagonists include(d):
Shohreh Aghdashloo - Jan. 16th, 2005
Best Female Antagonist: Shohreh Aghdashloo as Dina Araz
(We didn't actually see her get killed, so we are hoping Surnow, Cochran and Sutherland will bring her back for the finale or next season.)
Aghdashloo received an Oscar nomination for her role in The House of Sand and Fog.
The first Iranian and Middle Eastern woman to be nominated for an Academy Award, Shohreh is "the real deal."
Best Male Antagonist: Arnold Vosloo as Habib Marwan
Vosloo is originally from South Africa.
Before coming to the U.S. in the early 1990s he was an award-winning stage actor in his native country.
Until his high-profile role in 24 he is perhaps most well known in America for his role as the mummy in The Mummy.
This past Friday night during Family Night at The Movies, we got a kick out of seeing "Marwan" in the role of another antagonist.
Check out the bad guys in Agent Cody Banks. The one who has virtually no hair and a scar that wraps around his neck is Vozloo.
From The Co-Head of Nikita's Operations to CTU
La Femme Nikita's Alberta Watson as Madeline, Peta Wilson as Nikita, Matthew Ferguson as Seymour Birkoff & Jason Crawford (left seated), Don Francks aka "Iron Buffalo" as Walter, Roy Dupuis as Michael Samuel, Eugene Robert Glazer as "Operations"
We also enjoyed seeing La Femme Nikita star, Alberta Watson incorporated into this season's 24 script as the temporary head of CTU.
As a result of Watson's presence on 24, it has prompted us to watch past episodes of Watson as Madeline, Roy Dupuis as Michael and Peta Wilson as Nikita -- beginning with Season One of La Femme Nikita.
While the show ended in 2001, Season Two's DVD collection was released only this past March.
The Third Season of Nikita can be pre-ordered now. However, it will not begin shipping until June 28th.
Incidentally, month-after-month Peta Wilson is consistently in the Top Twenty of most searched women's names within Rugged Elegant Living.
If you don't have time to watch tv but fancy hip music, Rugged Elegance recommends the hot music that comes from this equally hot television series.
Kiefer Sutherland in A Different Role than Jack Bauer
One of our favorite all-time war movies starring Kiefer Sutherland is To End All Wars.
It didn't get a lot of play time on the big screen. However, this Christian Band of Brothers meets a tamed-down The Passion of The Christ was released on DVD on February 1st 2005. If you like war movies or if you are a die-hard Kiefer Sutherland fan, this is one film not to be missed.
Inspire & Be Inspired.
Here's to healthy, adventuresome, soulful, "post La Femme Nikita" living -- at its best!
