Country Music's Entertainer Of The Year Kenny Chesney and Oscar-winning actress Renee Zellweger were married Monday, May 9th in a small ceremony on the island of St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
It is the first marriage for the thirty-six year-old bride, as well as for the thirty-seven year-old groom.
Not even four months ago, Chesney and Zellweger met at the NBC All-Star Concert of Hope Tsunami Relief Benefit.
Zellweger was on site to answer phones. Chesney came to sing his hit song "I Can't Go There".
However, according to Country Weekly magazine, Chesney long ago named Zellweger as his favorite actress.
In fact, he was inspired to write his 1999 hit "You Had Me From Hello" after seeing her in "Jerry Maguire."
For their wedding, the actress, who won a best supporting Oscar for "Cold Mountain", wore a gown designed by Carolina Herrera.
Entertainment Tonight reported that Chesney went barefoot during the ceremony.
Renee, Kenny and about 45 guests gathered Sunday night at Rhumb Lines restaurant in downtown Cruz Bay, the main town on the island, according to restaurant employees.
The ceremony reportedly took place in front of close friends and family.
The couple was said to have "laughed and cried" during the 15-minute ceremony.
St. John
Monday night's reception was held at Peter Bay, an affluent gated community on the north shore of the island of St. John where Chesney owns a home.
This Thursday, Chesney is scheduled to leave his island paradise for Nashville where he will be performing on the "Today Show".
He then heads to Little Rock, Arkansas where he will perform on Thursday night to a sold-out crowd.
Between May 12th and August 28th, Kenny will perform in Oklahoma, Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania, D.C., Colorado, Nevada, Arizona, California, Utah, Oregon, Washington, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, South Carolina, Alabama, North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, back to Pennsylvania and New York, Ohio, West Virginia ... You get the picture.
Most of his concerts are already sold out.
On his web site, it states "All Dates Subject To Change. Always Check With Venue Before Traveling Long Distances."
Needless to say, if Chesney decides to deliver to his fans, he will not have much time for a honeymoon until after August 28th.
Unless, of course, Renee would like to take a country-wide tour while he performs.
Chesney currently has two albums on Billboard's top 10 country albums chart, and his single "Anything But Mine" is No. 6 on the magazine's hot country songs list.
Kenny was named Country Music Association (CMA) entertainer of the year in November.
Chesney's "When The Sun Goes Down" was named album of the year.
His other hits include "Me and You" and "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy."
Country Weekly magazine reported that Zellweger appeared at a recent Chesney concert in Jacksonsville, Florida, presenting him with a margarita and a kiss on stage.
Chesney grew up in east Tennessee.
Peter Bay, St. John
When he is not on the road he lives on the island of St. John where he and Renee were wed.
Zellweger, who turned 36 two weeks ago, is from Katy, Texas.
In addition to the Oscar she received for her stellar performance in Cold Mountain, Renee was nominated for an Academy Award for her work in Chicago and Bridget Jones Diary.
If Renee chooses to join her husband on tour it will likely be for only a short time. Later this month, she is expected to hit the PR circuit to help promote her new film, Cinderella Man. Cinderella Man is due in theaters on June 3rd.
Congratulations Kenny and Renee!
Inspire & Be Inspired.
Here's to healthy, adventuresome, soulful, "hotter" living together forever - amen!

P.S. The lyrics to his hit song When The Sun Goes Down go:

Sun tanned toes tickling the sand
Cold drink chillin in my right hand
Watching you sleep in the evening light
resting up for a long long night
Cuz when the sun goes down, We'll be groovin
When the sun goes down I'm feelin alright
When the sun sinks down, over the water
Everything gets hotter when the sun goes down
All day long just taking it easy
Laying in a hammock where it's nice and breezy
Sleepin off the night before
Cuz when the sun goes down we'll be back for more
When the sun goes down, we'll be groovin
When the sun goes down I'm feelin alright
When the sun sinks down, over the water
Everything gets hotter when the sun goes down
This old guitar and my dark sunglasses
This sweet concoction is smooth as molasses
Nothing to do but breathe all day
Until the big moon rises and it's time to play
When the sun goes down, we'll be groovin
When the sun goes down I'll be feelin alright
When the sun sinks down, over the water
Everything gets hotter when the sun goes down
Oh yeah!
