Mikalah -- #09 or #01?
Important American Idol Program Change
Here is the official FOX announcement:
Due to an error with the graphics shown on-screen (incorrect voting numbers were displayed) during the performance recap at the end of last night's AMERICAN IDOL, a live, one-hour show will air tonight, Wednesday, March 23 9/8c on FOX, to enable a re-vote.
This new show will combine new live elements with encores of Tuesday's performances from the remaining 11 contestants.
Phone lines will open at the conclusion of tonight's show and will remain open for two hours to give viewers the chance to vote for their favorite contestants and keep them in the competition. Only the voting results from tonight's show will determine who received the lowest number of votes and will be sent home this week. Tune in to see who America has chosen to stay and who is sent home on the live results show tomorrow, Thursday, March 24 9/8c live on FOX.
This announcement brings up some interesting questions:
1) What will host Ryan Seacrest say by way of explanation to the 30 million viewers who dedicated their Tuesday night to American Idol, and now have to do it all over again?
"This will be 'in-tras-ting'," my seven year-old daughter said this morning.
2) Will tonight's re-do inspire Nadia Tuner to sport her uber mohawk hairdo again?
3) Will Simon Cowell offer a repeat performance of his cheery (for him) mood? And if so, will fellow judge Paula Abdul kiss him again three times as she did last night?
4) How much more money will FOX make as the result of this snafu?
One can bet that the conspiracy theorists are all over this one.
5) When will the Michael Moore movie on this incident be released?
6) Will more Americans vote in tonight's election than they did in 2000 or 2004?
7) Does Carrie Underwood have enough hair product left to once again achieve that "big hair" 80's look?
8) Will Anthony Fedorov sport the same 5 o'clock stubble as George Michael? Fedorov may have biceps, but does he have facial hair yet?
9) Will the contestants be allowed to change their choice of #1 Billboard songs? Or will we simply see the same performance they gave last night?
10) Have Scott Savol's eyeglasses been repaired and "degreased" after he flung them onto the stage floor?
11) Will the graphics person responsible for the numbers snafu be fired or promoted?
12) Will Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell take off their shirts as penance for this mistake?
Jessica -- #11 or #03?
The bottom line: American Idol made the right choice.
Tune into FOX this evening at 9/8c. Your efforts last night will not count.
Once again, you will have two hours to vote - after the show.
Thursday evening, FOX will air their weekly results show.
Who will stay?
Will it be Bo Bice, Anthony Fedorov, Constantine Maroulis, Anwar Robinson, Scott Savol, Nikko Smith, Mikalah Gordon, Jessica Sierra, Vonzell Solomon, Nadia Turner or Carrie Underwood?
Ten contestants with the most votes will be "safe" -- that is, at least until next week.
Inspire & Be Inspired.
