To experience a new kind of thrill, follow the lights to Las Vegas and climb up over 900-feet above The Strip to a ride called "Insanity."
On Thursday, March 10, 2005, the Stratosphere Hotel unveiled its fourth ride to the public.
Reuters photographer, Sam Morris captured Stratosphere spokesman Mike Gilmartin and a reporter taking a spin on the green giant.
Insanity takes you 64 feet over the edge of the Stratosphere Tower.
Each ride holds 10 passengers and spins at 40 mph.
The key to the ride is that thrill seekers experience a centrifugal force of three Gs while being spun out 64 feet past the edge of the Stratosphere Tower overlooking the City of Las Vegas more than 900 feet below.
As the ride spins faster and faster, the riders are propelled up to an angle of 70 degrees. Riders will experience the thrill of being flung over the edge of the tower and literally facing downward at the City of Las Vegas below.
Don't forget to strap your iPod to your arm before "take off."
Inspire & Be Inspired.
Here's to healthy, adventuresome, soulful "thrill-seeking" living!
