The 2005 Golden Globe Awards took place at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California on January 16, 2005. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association honored achievement in the film and television industries. At this year's Golden Globe Awards, nine gentlemen stood out as the best dressed, most "rugged elegant" actors, producers and directors with soul.
Those who not only had The Look walking down The Red Carpet, and who embody a healthy, adventuresome, soulful spirit, wherever they go and whatever they wear, were:
Clint Eastwood - Golden Globe Best Director Winner for Million Dollar Baby (also on our 2004 Golden Globes List and a previous Cecil B. DeMille Award winner)

Eastwood came to the Globes with his entire family. His daughter Kathryn was honored by serving as this year's Miss Golden Globe. Her responsibility?
Handing the trophy to all the award winners, including her father.
Any man, gracious enough to share the red carpet with his wife (to the left of Clint in the above photo) and his family from a previous marriage, earns our vote.
Clint's wife Dina Ruiz, his ex-partner, Frances Fisher and daughters Kathryn, Alison and Francesca were all in attendance at the 2005 Golden Globes.
When asked what "the key to a happy family unit" Fisher responded, "Lots of forgiveness and lots of love."
Upon hearing his name called as Best Director of the year, Eastwood witnessed one of the best standing ovations of the night.
After receiving a hug from his daughter Kathryn, Eastwood received the Golden Globe for Best Director in a Motion Picture.
His picture this year was Million Dollar Baby.
Eastwood, who has been acting, directing and producing since 1970, can now add "musician" to his list of credits.
At the 2005 Golden Globes Clint was also nominated for Best Original Score in a Motion Picture.
Pierce Brosnan introduced Mike Nichols, who presented Robin Williams with a lifetime achievement Golden Globe award.
Robin Williams - Cecil B. DeMille Honoree
Robin Williams looked as handsome as ever wearing tails and a silver bow tie.
We loved his "wifetime" achievement acceptance speech.
Robin and Jamie Foxx added the most soul to the three-hour broadcast.
Leonardo DiCaprio with Martin Scorsese & Michael Mann
Leonardo DiCaprio - Golden Globe Award Best Actor Winner for The Aviator, a story which had already at least twice been explored, once as a documentary starring Howard Hughes himself, and once starring Christopher Reeve in 1985.
Johnny Depp - Golden Globe Nominee for Finding Neverland
Depp wore a blue double-breasted suit, matching sunglasses and a goatee to this year's Golden Globe awards.
During NBC's red carpet pre-show arrival special Lisa Ling asked Depp if there was a role he always has dreamed of playing. Depp's response: (I'm No Angel's) "Mae West."
Clive Owen - Golden Globe Best Supporting Actor Winner for Closer - based on Patrick Marber's play
Samuel L. Jackson - Presenter (loved his chocolate brown velvet tux)
Matthew McConnaughy - Presenter for Motion Picture Screenplay (The Golden Globe winners were Alexander Payne & Jim Taylor for Sideways.)
The Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger
Mick Jagger - Golden Globe Award Winner for Alfie's "Old Habits Die Hard", this year's best original song
One of the best rounds of applause of the night? For Prince.
To Jamie Foxx, Prince said, "You didn't just portray Ray Charles. You were Ray Charles.

Jamie Foxx, Best Actor Golden Globe Winner for "Ray"
Jamie Foxx - Golden Globe Best Actor Winner for Ray
Foxx was nominated for his performance in Ray, Collateral and Redemption.
The crowd gave him two of the few standing ovations of the night. They stood and cheered both before and after his heartfelt, generous speech.
Of course, the background music of Ray (or was it Jamie?) certainly helped set the tone for Foxx's expression of appreciation as he came to the stage.
Upon accepting his Golden Globe award, Foxx had his entire audience responding to his Ray Charles-like "calls".
If you TiVo'd the show, Foxx's "heys," "hos," expressions of gratitude and emotion are worth hearing and watching.
If you missed it here is the gist of what Foxx said:
I'll just tell you that I'm having the ride of my life right now.
I'm having the ride of my life.
It is so great. I wish you could feel what I'm feeling right now and put it in the water systems and everybody could drink it, and we would all love each other a whole lot more; I'm telling you.
Foxx gave great credit to the late-great Ray Charles by acknowledging that "we are playing beautiful notes right now."
He went on to give credit to "a caucasian man", Taylor Hackford (who wrote and directed Ray and), who is responsible for taking a chance on this beautiful, black film.
Foxx thanked his cast, the producers of Ray, Phil, the $35 million financier of the movie, his publicist, and his managers, Jamie and Marcus King. To them he said:
They are the unsung heroes.
I'm tell you, right now. You're black and your proud. I love it. And there's nothing wrong with that. Celebrate that. I'm tell you, now you can stick your chest out, right now. You stick your chest out, and you say, 'yeah, we did it. We waited a long time.'
And I love you for that.
When Foxx credited his grandmother, it was not what he said, it was how he said it. The look in his eyes said it all. You had to be there. We hope you were.
Jamie Foxx, you get the prize for the man, no matter what his color, for having the "biggest soul" of the night.
You "gotta feeling." We've got a feeling. And we'll be watching you, from now on. In Stealth, in Jarhead and in next year's Miami Vice playing Philip Michael Thomas' role as Detective Ricardo Tubbs.
From Ray to Collateral, to your next three productions, we say 'Yeah!' right along with you!
Inspire and be inspired.
Here's to healthy, adventuresome, soulful, "lookin' and feelin' it" living!
