Her name is Sofie Oosterwaal.

This natural beauty will soon grace the covers of magazines worldwide. She will join Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Paulina Porizkova and Claudia Schiffer as one of the most sought after models in the world.

Who is she?

She is the 2004 Elite Model Look International "find" from the Netherlands.

On Thursday, December 2, 2004, Sofie beat eighty other natural beauties during this year's final competition which took place in Shanghai.

Elite's first runner-up is fourteen year-old, Dana Marcolina of the U.S.

The 5'11" model from plays basketball and volleyball. She loves music, acting, singing, diving, art, cooking, poetry and community service.

Her favorite charity is Save The Children Foundation.

The second runner-up is Maj Bjerre of Denmark.

The final competition took place on December 2, 2004 in Shanghai.

Some 80 contestants from 50 countries competed in this year's international Elite Model event.

It is the first time this event was held in China.

Elite Model, 15 Year-Old, Liu Shubei

China is the world's largest garment manufacturing and consumption country. There are more than 50,000 garment companies, but only about 10,000 professional models.

The Elite Model Look is one of the most prestigous opportunites for aspiring fashion models to be discovered. Girls from the ages of 13-24 are considered. Elite looks for natural beauties 17 and younger who are at least 5'6". They say girls 18 and older should be at least 5'7". Dana is 5'11". No matter how tall you stand having a great attitude is key.

The largest modeling agency in the world has a roster of 750 models. Elite Model Management has thirty agencies in cities such as LA, Milan, New York and its founding city, Paris. In 1972, the agency which coined the term "supermodel" in the '80s was founded by John Casablancas (now retired) and Alan Kittler.

It is where Hollywood stars such as Brooke Shields, Demi Moore and Cameron Diaz, also started their careers. Two model that remain on Elite's roster today are Lauren Bush, President George W. Bush's niece, and former supermodel Paulina Porizkova.

This year, the New York agency has struggled with lawsuits and a bankruptcy filing. Creative World Management purchased Elite for nearly $8 million.
