Every morning, I start my day with The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, USA Today, The San Francisco Chronicle, Google News and the BBC News: World Edition, among other Internet sites.
As a publisher, I pride myself on having a sense of what is going on in the world. However, after taking the BBC's Weekly World News Quiz this morning, I am embarassed to admit that I got only 3 out of 7 answers correct.
Today's Questions:
1) Scientists have discovered the skeleton of a tiny species of human that lived in Indonesia. What has it been called?
Having spent four plus hours yesterday, writing about this subject - Hobbit-sized Humans Called Homo floresiensis Discovered by Australian-Indonesian Archeologists - I was confident that I was at least off to a good start.
2) The first of a fleet of the world's most expensive fighter jet, the FA-22 Raptor, has been rolled out in the US. What is it designed to fight?
3) Tuna-flavoured ice cubes were this week mooted for what market?
I don't own a cat, but the answer seemed intuitive over low-carb, high protein dieters and dolphins.
4) What key artifact in religious history do archaeologists believe they have discovered?
5) Where would it be most expensive to open a boutique? Rank London, New York and Paris, with the most costly shopping area first.
I haven't been to London in nine years, however, I was in Paris just last summer. And we got a first hand taste of how expensive New York is this July. So, I took a wild guess and got this one right. But I'm not telling, because you should give this quiz a try yourself.
6) Why has an inquiry been launched at Mysore zoo in southern India?
7) Who was this week told they could no longer sport "long, messy hair, ponytails, hair bands and certain kinds of beard"?
To test your knowledge of world news events in the BBC's quiz, go to:

They'll give you the answers on the spot, and grade you on your quiz.
As a result, I was encouraged to treat myself to a tuna-flavoured ice cube. What will they say about your grade?

P.S. The Weekly World News Quiz will be taking a break next week but will return on November 12th.
By then, we should know who has won the United States' presidential election. Let's hope, at least!
The question is: What other world news, and specifically inspirational world news, will have taken place by then? Stay tuned...
P.P.S. I'm feeling better now that Tim has taken the quiz. He only got two right. Here's to really honest living!
