Houston Astros vs. Boston Red Sox World Series To Decide The U.S. Presidency
Kerry (Boston) vs. Bush (Houston)
Here's a suggestion:
If the Houston Astros beats the St. Louis Cardinals tonight, let the World Series teams be a proxy for the presidential candidates.
Boston can be the proxy for Senator John Kerry from Massachusetts while Houston becomes the proxy for President George W. Bush from Texas.
The team that wins the World Series gets their guy into the White House.
Could you imagine the excitement of the seventh game around that scenario?
There is good historical precedence for this.

For instance, David and Goliath were proxies for their respective armies. (We all know how that one turned out.)
Instead of getting everyone in the nation into the poll booths on November 2nd, imagine all the time and money saved if we could get the candidates to agree to this approach.
Just a suggestion...
