Angelina Jolie Voted "Sexiest Woman Alive" by Esquire Magazine Editors & Readers

In the latest edition of Esquire Magazine, Angelina Jolie Voight was selected as the "Sexiest Woman Alive." The magazine's editors and mostly male readers give her this new title.

An Actress

The woman, who mesmerizes men in all of her movies, fights off robot invaders with just one eye in her latest film with Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. In this Neo-retro sci-fi thriller Jolie plays the role of Franky, an alluring, courageous fighter pilot with an eye patch.

Among some of her other projects, she will also star as Alexander the Great's mother in Oliver Stone's epic Alexander with Colin Farrell, and as Brad Pitt's professionally murderous wife in Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

A Mother of Two?

The former real-life wife of Jonny Lee Miller (1996-1999) and Billy Bob Thornton (2000-2003) and mother of a Cambodian son Maddox may soon become a mother of two adopted children. She is now hoping to adopt a seven-month-old blonde boy with blue eyes" named Gleb.

On a secret trip to Moscow in June, the star spent nearly a week visiting orphanages in the Russian capital. She asked officials to find her "a blonde boy with blue eyes". While she has completed negotiations for adoption, Angelina will return to Moscow for a series of hearings which could take six months.

A Philanthropist

The woman with the "bad girl" image has a great, soft side when it comes to philanthropy.

Last year, she pledged $1.3 million ($350,000 up front and $250,000 per year thereafter) for a Cambodian conservation project to support nearly 52,000 acres of forest known as the "100 Elephants Forest". The program donates cows to impoverished Cambodian farmers.

Jolie became impressed with Cambodia while filming Lara Croft: Tomb Rider in 2000.

She has also donated money to African refugees.

A year ago, she admitted to donating one third of all her earnings to charity. She said said she has too much money for her own needs and wants her wealth to benefit those who are in need.

The Other Sexy Women Jolie Beat

Jolie received seven per cent of all votes cast by the magazine's readers while Catwoman star Halle Berry came a close second with six per cent.

Other top contenders, to name a few: Jessica Simpson, Beyonce, Charlise Theron and Jennifer Aniston.

The twenty-nine year-old beauty (born 6.4.75) graces the cover of Esquire's annual 'Women We Love' issue.

Esquire's November 2004 edition includes nineteen pages of America's favorite movie stars, models and the Bush twins. In this issue, Dick Cheney makes his case for twelve more years.

Entitled The Revolutionary by Walter Russell Mead, Mead reports:

He has many faces, all gray. He is a symphony in gray. He ranges the spectrum from vanilla to colorless to dull. Even the pink of his lip and the blue of his eyes are gray. As the Trojan horse for a contemporary American revolution, he is magnificent, as radical behavior would be the last thing suspected of someone who comports himself as he does. He is an accident of history. He is a world-historic figure. He is the greatest enigma in American public life. His name is Dick Cheney.

And John Mariani reports on twenty-one best new restaurants in the U.S. He says, "Japanese restaurants are getting more exciting, Italian restaurants are getting more authentic, and charcuterie and great cheeses are being served everywhere."
