Red Sox Stay Alive On Ortiz's 12th Inning Home Run

David Ortiz hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the 12th to lead the Boston Red Sox to a 6-4 victory against the New York Yankees tonight.

At 1:22 a.m. Eastern Time, Fenway Park was filled to the brim with fans. After five hours and two seconds, the fans went home tonight saying it was worth every second!

The Red Sox fans, who were praying and holding hands, had their prayers answered when Ortiz connected. He sent the ball over the right field wall.

The stadium erupted.

Numerous fans raised up the t-shirt they were holding with #34 emblazoned on it.

One fan held up a sign "Reverse The Curse."

David.Ortiz.jpgOrtiz did it this evening. Or at least got the team one step closer.

After the game, Ortiz recognized the impact the fans had on their win.

Out of breath after circling the bases he said:

"We're still in the house. We're still playing in Boston after getting awesome support from the fans. And that's all we care about right now."

This was Ortiz' second home run in the post season.

Another Play of The Game

The other star of tonight's game was Dave Roberts, who was inserted as a pitch runner after Mariano Rivera issued a lead-off walk to Kevin Millar in the bottom of the ninth inning. Roberts stole second and then scored when Bill Mueller singled to right field, knotting the game at 4.

The Boston Red Sox are still down 3-1 in the series. Another chance to "reverse the curse" comes with Game Five -- Monday evening again at Fenway.

Set your TiVos for 5 pm ET / 2 pm PT unless you can afford to watch the game live on FOX.

We still believe!

Here's to healthy, adventuresome, soulful and "staying alive" living!
