Miss Utah, Amy Davis
Miss Florida Jenna Edwards, Miss Louisiana Jennifer Dupont and Miss Utah Amy Davis are the top three Miss America contestants going into the swimsuit contest this Saturday night.
Last night, Miss Utah won the contest and a $2,000 scholarship. She wore one of the new, two-piece swimsuits by Speedo.
Her reaction:
I am very excited and happy to be here. I worked so hard to be physically fit and healthy for this year's pageant. I wanted to be prepared in all areas, but in this area I did decide to work with a personal trainer. I've come to believe that the competition is more then just being physically fit, but also how you present yourself to the audience. So I am thrilled to be recognized.
In the spotlight on Tuesday night was Miss Louisiana Jennifer Dupont, who is a preliminary Lifestyle and Fitness in Swimsuit winner. She also wore a yellow and black two-piece Speedo swimsuit, as did Monday night's preliminary winner,
Singing "Please Send Me Someone To Love" Miss Georgia Danica Tisdale won the talent competition and a $4,000 scholarship. Miss California Veena Goel, a dancer and Miss Massachusetts Erika Ebbel, a pianist won the preliminary talent contests earlier in the week.
The Miss America Organization is one of the nation's leading achievement programs and the world's largest provider of scholarship assistance for young women. In 2003, the Miss America Organization and its state and local organizations made available more than $45 million in cash and scholarship assistance.
The winner of the 2005 competition will be awarded $50,000.
The Miss America Contest will be broadcast this Saturday at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
