Fasten your seat belts at home, this Tuesday, George Lucas will release the original sci-fi trilogy — Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
Lucas wrote and directed Star Wars --a film which broke all box office records and earned seven Academy Awards. Lucas went on to write the stories for The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, which he also executive-produced.
The Chairman of the Board of Lucasfilm Ltd., LucasArts Entertainment Company LLC, and Lucas Digital Ltd. LLC., Lucas Licensing Ltd. and Lucas Learning Ltd., is preparing to launch the last of his six "Star Wars" films.
On May 19, 1999, Episode I of the new trilogy was written, directed, executive-produced and released by George Lucas.
Next summer brings Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith, completing the prequel trilogy that tells the story of young Anakin Skywalker's metamorphosis into the villainous Darth Vader of the original three films.
A bit of trivia: Return of the Jedi was originally called Revenge of the Jedi. (After all these years, I still have my blue Revenge of the Jedi sweatshirt.) Perhaps I'll wear it next May when Revenge of the Sith is released.
Here's to healthy, adventuresome, soulful and "force-be-with-you" living!

P.P.S. We are grateful to Mr. Lucas for his investment in the Presidio and his efforts to make Northern California a rival to Hollywood's film industry.
Thanks to the influence of Mr. Lucas twenty years ago, he has inspired a new generation of filmmakers. As a result, I'm off to read my brother's latest script, which is again set in San Francisco.
May the force be with you!
