The United States' World Cup Hockey team has won their first game against Slovakia -- 3-1. America's Bryan Smolinski, Jason Blake and Bill Guerin made the goals which were countered only once by Slovakia's Ladislav Nagy. The U.S. had a 39-17 shots advantage. After losing to Canada and Russia, this was by far their best effort of the tournament. This final game in the North American pool will put the U.S. in either the second or third seed in the quarterfinals.
