The August 31 DVD releases are topped by The Passion Of The Christ, the much-discussed film funded and directed by Mel Gibson. The movie, which stunned industry experts by grossing $370 million in the box office, focuses on the last twelve hours of Jesus of Nazareth's life.
The film begins in the Mount of Olives where Jesus has gone to pray after the Last Supper. Jesus must resist the temptations of Satan. Betrayed by Judas Iscariot, Jesus is then arrested and taken within the city walls of Jerusalem where leaders of the Pharisees confront him with accusations of blasphemy and his trial results in a condemnation to death.
The level of violence in the movie is realistic and extreme, so it is not appropriate for children. If you haven't already seen the movie, we highly recommend you see it so that you can form your own opinion. If you've already seen the movie, it's definitely worth another viewing. Either way, we suggest that you view it with friends so that you can discuss the film after its completion.
Here's to healthy, adventuresome and soulful living.
