Beginning this Wednesday, July 7th at 10pm (Eastern and Pacific time), John McEnroe has a new racquet. As a CNBC talk show host, the forty-five year-old tennis legend will serve up a cosmopolitan mix of topical guests, music, art, sports, politics and a lot of comedy.
His first guests will be American comedian Will Ferrell, British rocker Sting and McEnroe's wife (1997-present), Patty Smyth, who has written the theme song for the show.
Emmy award-winning producer/writer/director Douglas Warshaw will serve as Executive in Charge of Production. Pamela Thomas-Graham, CNBC president said, "He’s a rebel in many ways. I think that’s fun for our viewers. A lot of our viewers are entrepreneurs and they like that rebellious attitude in him.” That's for sure!
In July 1999, McEnroe was honored for his outstanding tennis career when he was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
