Ruling Makes Clarett NFL Pioneer

mo.jpg

redandblack.com -

Thursday, a U.S. Federal judge allowed former Ohio State running back Maurice Clarett to enter the NFL Draft, which prompted most skeptics to argue the floodgates have opened for younger players to enter the NFL.

Mo Clarett is a hero. As a Freshman running back, he stripped the ball from a then #1 ranked Miami defender who intercepted his quarterback's pass -- and forcefully took the ball back. Anybody else ever seen that? This was in the National Championship game -- 2003! Ohio State went on to a win and a unanimous Final #1 ranking after Clarett finished the job.

Mo continues to push the boundaries with the NFL with this huge win, and if I had first draft pick, well, here's the definition of a franchise player! As a Buckeye fan, it seems appropriate that he should finish out his years of eligibility with OSU. But he's ready to go and make a major impact in the NFL if not winning the Super Bowl, he'll most likely at least be in the game.

Hey, maybe NFL football will be exciting again!!!!
