Wine Pairing Tips for Thanksgiving

SF GATE
When choosing wine to pair with food, look at the dish holistically, seasonings and sauces included -- not just the prime ingredient. That way you'll know to pick Sauvignon Blanc for plain green beans versus Chardonnay for green beans in a mushroom or cream sauce.
This is all hogwash... Just pick the kinds of wines the people attending like the most.
The best Thanksgiving advice I ever received is to have a good Riesling in reserve in case the turkey ends up dry... I've had to fall back on this method, and it works.
While we are on the subject, and since we already ordered our own ham for the holidays, it's OK to turn you loose on Shelburne Farms. Here's where you get your ham for the holidays -- the best!!!!
You're welcome, good luck securing one! Don't forget the cheese and mustard with that! [Lo carbs, those]...
- Kevin.
