Liza Takes The Show Dogs For A Catwalk At Passport

passport.jpg
San Francisco Chronicle:

Twenty-one years into its life as San Francisco's biggest annual fashion fete, Macy's Passport has entered that hallowed, graying grove of local cultural institutions. Like the Bay to Breakers, the San Francisco Ballet "Nutcracker," the Black and White Ball and "Beach Blanket Babylon," Passport is one of those events people attend because it seems an instrumental part of living here, in some vague, civic lifestyle way.

...

This year's show, once it got going, featured Liza Minnelli as the presiding star (and M.A.C Viva Glam lipstick emblem). With her huge grin and bodice-filling constellation of jewels, she was a Liz Taylor in training in her opening remarks and ceremonial bows. "Our Liza," as an announcer dubbed her, returned at evening's end for a commemorative account of the title song from "Cabaret."
