If you think fashion week is about clothes, think again.
The semiannual extravaganza that brings hordes of designers, , editors, photographers, buyers, socialites and hangers-on to New York is more about making media buzz than making miniskirts, say those in the know.
"It is a gathering," said Paco Underhill, author of the upcoming book "The Call of the Mall" and head of Envirosell Inc., a research and consulting firm.
"It is sort of like everyone going to the Superbowl, but the Superbowl is almost incidental to the conversation and the camaraderie and sharing of ideas," he said on Monday.
