New Music: Joss Stone

joss.stone.jpg
Every once in awhile, you hear a voice that sends shivers down your spine. That was the case yesterday, when my friend George picked me up to go attend training to become volunteer assistant referees for our daugthers' soccer league.

No, the voice didn't belong to George, it was that of Joss Stone. George was listening to NPR's "All Songs Considered," which featured Joss, who is a soul singer with a voice that seems to be the second coming of Aretha Franklin. Don't take my word for it, check out the the recording of her appearance.

Here's the surprising part: Joss is a sixteen year-old, blonde from England.
