What Not to Wear

trinny.susannah.jpgSlate:

If you're deciding what to wear today -- or tonight -- you might consult the ironclad dictums of Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine, the brisk, unforgiving English duo who remake wardrobes weekly on "What Not To Wear."

...

"What Not To Wear", this BBC version, is a fun and even enlightening half an hour; I imagine that's because it's English. The banter is sharp and, to me in New York at least, emotionally mysterious.

In both their show and in their book, "What Not to Wear," the sartorial sisters show how to develop personal style, while making the most of your body shape, hiding your defects and flaunting those assets. Susannah and Trinny are not about fashion; they are about personal style - dressing for your body shape and personality - and this book shows you how.

If you don't get BBC America on your "tele" I recommend you buy Susannah and Trinny's book. After watching only two episodes of this show, I have given away 1/4 of my wardrobe. I have needed to get rid of those ol' cut-off jean shorts, golf shirts, bathing suits, and 1/2 the shirts that haven't been worn in over a year. These two inspired me to get ruthless about "letting go."

I'm also planning on taking a videoclip from one of their "makeovers" to show my hairdresser the style I'm looking for in my next cut.
